Through research and development with the Type R they have honed in a stainless steel system that weighs 5.9Kg less than the stock exhaust while increasing flow, keeping loudness to a minimum, and overcoming a torque valley that was found to happen at 4000rpm with the stock exhaust. HKS says their testing shows you can even push your tune to 400HP+ and their Spec-L will not restrict flow.
